I’d seen the amazing Kanye – Power video but didn’t know anything of Marco Brambilla, the director behind it. Turns out there are more adventurous and amazing videos out there using existing films in a massive mashup painterly patchwork, that links back to epic genre paintings and even the likes of Dadd, Bosch and Breughel. Civilization is shown excerpted above, and here is Flashback, which interesting how the sound is as recogniseable as the small videos loops in many of these:
