Good news – Nerdcore win over Euroweb

I heard a while back that long time supporter of Radio Clash Nerdcore had lost their domain but my terrible German skills (especially legal German! Gottdamm!) meant I wasn’t really sure what was happening…although I got that there was a fight was over the Nerdcore.de domain. Apparently they criticised Euroweb (their host) and held back some money due to bad service so Euroweb seized the domain and tried to sell it – and it ended up in legals.

Nice to hear that they’ve got it back [German article – Google translate here – isn’t Google Translate getting so much better now?] via DENIC – in the meantime the site had to change to Crackajack.

Good news, and I hope that solves the Euroweb problem, and they have my sympathies as I’ve had (as probably a lot of bloggers have) that threat from someone unhappy what they have written – thankfully they really didn’t know how the libel laws work, nor that said parties who host my blog really do not care unless the content is illegal (CP etc).

Hi Tim, thanx for the post, some small corrections:

Euroweb never was my host (god beware!), but I critisized them after they sued a blogger (who critisized them) and (more important), i had a close look at their offerings regarding webdesign related to the prizes and I wrote my findings down in some harsh (partly *very* harsh) words. I did this early 2006. 5 years later they already found out ;D

Also: As they sued me (Aug2010), I had better shit to do (serious family business, true) and I just ignored it. My fault, but after paying all the stuff in the very first days of 2011, they still took the domain. This and some formaly errors are why they are in trouble now.

That’s a rough roundup of the story, thanks for this, Tim!

    All the best!
    René
