Shock horror! A few mashups

See via APC and RebornIdentity’s best of September list…these are a few good ones in a sea of mediocrity 😀

DJ Magnet does it again, love his production, not yer usual A vs B vs C 😀 And something that would be at home as much at the likes of Bastard in 2003 as Bootie in 2009…Billy Idol, Martin Solveig and The Hives in a rather nice video:

And to those who love this Beyonce song (which I HATE HATE HATE HATE) (say what you feel Tim, don’t hold back – Schizo Ed) I like Oki’s take on it, marrying it to Duke Ellington and sending her back to the 1930s. Can we leave her there?

You see, those of you mashing or mixing Lady Gaga with NeYo or Nirvana or Fiddy or Kanye or Kid Cudi (oops already bin dun to great effect 😉 or something equally as dire or obvious this is the point of mashups…crossing genres, eras and making connections with vastly different music. Rather than just regurgitating the current top 40 in new yet boring ways.

It can make me even like Beyonce (*shock horror!*). Well maybe like is too strong a word…
