And another thing (aka Oi! Optimo!)

VJ Kodek asking me about Optimo reminded me to post this:

Does this seem slightly similar to you?

(for those now scratching their heads – this was when I had my first Radio Clash site) – the design was created for London Booted mid/early 2004, even the xerox effect, and re-used for Radio Clash site in late 2004/Jan 2005. Great minds? Or plagiarism? I dunno.

Umm… only so similar that I’d be ashamed to do it. Unless I was trying for a shout out from you.

There is similarity there, but truth is that the Optimo sleeve is ripping off Warhol’s “Double Elvis” (do a google image search if you need to).

Mind you, I also thought your pic was a warhol homage…. obv not, then!!!

It is a homage to Warhol – finding the pose that inspired Elvis to take that pose, then Warhol picks up the image and then Sid Vicious does the same, then Gavin Turk does that…it was an obvious quote.

Just thought the mashup album takes Warhol in almost the same way as I did was rather, well coincidental?
