…and it involved really bad Christian rap and terrible dancing. Yeah, that’ll work!
Move over Justin Bieber for Michael Clancy! Who seemed quite cool when this blew up a few years back…
To give him credit, the starting material wasn’t that good, and I prefer his version to the original. It’s a cover of song by DC Talk, a christian rap group, who’s video and style remind you of a whiter, straighter less funky Vanilla Ice, and yes that is amazingly possible.
I’ve said before about christian rap, rock or metal just are a complete trainwreck collision of contradiction, a bit like the gluten and wheat-free options always taste of disappointment and bitter tears and never as good as the originals. I still stand by that statement on this evidence, the Devil \m/ \m/ doesn’t need to be in any music, but neither does any religious message (or if it does the music is nearly always subservient to the message, a bit like most political songs fail at being good tunes)…
Also quite funny is someone pointing out the sampling in this track. Hmm, not very Christian to steal is it? 😉
