In Bleep We Trust

In Bleep We Trust – acid house, bleep and hypno house mix

After Nitro Deluxe died* I listened back to some of his classic work – and track Hypno House started off a mix collecting some of the bleep and deep hypnotic house classics, acid house, balearic, rave and early jungle/breaks, even some modern re-edits and trax – all in service of the mighty bleep.

There was a brief period in dance, a sort of crossroads roughly between 1988 and 1992 where the balearic ‘anything goes’ idea fed back into British dancefloors and pirate radio, and all sorts of genres met at the bleep.

Balearic dreamy soundscapes, hypno house and bleep house, what later became called IDM (Warp), pure trance, acid, early jungle and dark rave, hip-hop & hip-house, breaks, techno, late EBM, europop and industrial all reported to the dance floor – and set the standard for the rest of the decade (or two).

This mix is about that junction, before the children of house went their own ways.
