One of the nice things about the mashup world is people go off and do different things then pop up elsewhere – there is a life after mashups after all 😉
One of the early names I remember from Get Your Bootleg On and those early 2001/2 mashups I heard is Braces Tower – and as well as being the Voodoo Trombone Quartet here is one of his more recent video mashups, an original song using children’s toys but I love the odd slightly psychedelic video of kids ‘playing’ those toys. You’ll know from his Michael Jackson video he seems to have a thing about the theme from Close Encounters, LOL.
Another name from those dark dusty distant past is Gordyboy…and lo and behold his name popped up when I found that video as he did the video for Eleven Twelve – a track that has the distinction of being played on Radio Clash many times (not many tracks have been, I usually never repeat a track unless it’s REALLY good). Now with Kraftwerk mania in full sway due to the one-man-band in New York MOMA gigs, here’s Gordy’s Cathy Dennis vs Kraftwerk mash…brilliant to see a video for this, missed this back in 2009!
