Always meant to check out the brilliantly named Beardyman and Matt at work played the amazing Essential Mix he did – you can download it here, it’s really recommended. If you don’t know what he does – he’s a beatboxer, but combines comedy and in this mix creates all the sounds (apart from piano and synths) recreating and mashing up the likes of Daft Punk, Leftfield, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Hall and Oates.
Also check out Beardyman’s Complete and Utter Shambles (NSFW)…kind of like a manic new alternate freak/cabaret show with his friends…someone should give him and his friends a TV show, it would be brilliant late night Friday or Saturday TV…funny and mad, with a scratching monkey, a Marge Simpson with a large saxophone, chick hop and dying on the internet – and that’s just part one!
Love the use of live video scratching of the audience making silly noises – embarrassing for them but very funny!
After this I definitely want to see him live…and lo and behold he’s touring in Feb and March (no this isn’t PR spam, just found out via his YouTube page) so going to see him on March 9th in Camden!
